Big Brain Academy Online Details

The first real addition to the Touch Generations brand that Nintendo has been creating so successfully on the Nintendo DS is coming to the Wii. Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree is a pseudo-sequel to Big Brain Academy on the Nintendo DS, but with new mind-strengthening mini-games, Mii integration, and most importantly, a Wi-Fi mode. Now don’t get your hopes up too high when you hear this, but it could very well be the closest thing to online multiplayer gaming (in the typical sense) without actually having online gaming. Nintendo just recently updated its Japanese Big Brain Website with some Wi-Fi details. I’ll sum them up for you but you can also find the link below for more details. Essentially, you use your Mii character as your gaming avatar and as the game rates your brain weight, or gaming intelligence, it updates your profile. Using the WiiConnect24 feature of the system you can compete in multiplayer battles against your friend’s profile as if you were playing against them. So, in a way, it is better than online gaming because you can play against your friends even when they aren’t there. However, that could very well just be the Nintendo fanboy in me defending the company’s weakest aspect, online gaming.
